Lincoln-Way Central ROTC Drill Team Takes 1st Place
The Lincoln-Way Central High School AFJROTC Drill Team travelled to Dayton, Ohio to compete against 21 teams.

The Lincoln-Way Central AFJROTC Drill Team took first place for the SWSC conference competition and an over 6th place, out of 21 teams for regionals in Dayton, Ohio.
“We have just finished our most successful year for the drill team,” stated MSgt Daniel Schliffka, Central drill team instructor.
The Lincoln-Way Central AFJROTC cadets won first place Conference Drill Competition. With eight schools competing in twelve events, the drill team cadets had to compete at maximum levels.
“Our seniors have been working four years to finally come out on top,” stated MSgt Schliffka, “and all the cadets have shown a huge amount of perseverance leading up to this championship meet.”
Central drill team instructors Lt. Col John O’Connor and MSgt Schliffka noted they are both incredibly proud to have a group of dedicated cadets who strive for excellence in everything they do and the manner in which they represented Lincoln-Way Central High School.
“Speaking for the entire school, these are outstanding young men and women, all with the heart and work ethic of true Knights,” noted Dr. Steve Provis, principal.
