Lincoln-Way Elementary School District Fees Vary Dramatically

Basic registration fees for elementary school districts in the Lincoln-Way communities range from $115 to $235 for kindergarten and from $125-$245 for 8th graders.

Of the four elementary school districts in the Lincoln-Way communitiesMokena School Dist. 159 has the highest total fees, followed by New Lenox School Dist. 122Frankfort School Dist. 157-C has the lowest overall registration fee, followed by Summit Hill School Dist. 161.   

Extra-curricular fees vary widely among the districts. They range from $25 per sport to as much as $250 for selected sports. 

M159 is the only district to charge for basic transportation for students living more than 1.5 miles from school. Parents within the bounds of M159 pay $200 for one child, $380 for two, $540 for three and a maximum of $680 for four or more.

MD159 also has an extra-curricular fee schedule that ranges from $250 to play basketball to $10 for intramural sports. Activities fees range from $55 to $13.

NLSD122 charges $235 for kindergarten registration, $240 for grades 1-2 and $245 for grades 3-8. However, extra-curricular activities are only $25.

Frankfort 157-C charges parents $115 for kindergarten-2nd grade, $120 for grades 3-5 and $35 for band and sports. Registration fees at SHD161 are $125 for half-day kindergarten, $150 for full day kindergarten, $150 for grades 1-8, $50 per sport, $30 per club activity, $80 for band for students in grades 5-6 and $120 for 7th and 8th grade band students.
