Live Rocks Thousands At Last New Lenox Triple Play Show

Alt-rock classic band Live led a crowd of thousands in singing along to their hits Saturday, July 22 in New Lenox.

NEW LENOX, IL — Fans endured a bit of rain early on, but no actual lightning crashed in the skies— just the song — at the New Lenox Commons Saturday, July 22, as rock band Live closed out the Triple Play series.

To a crowd of thousands, frontman Ed Kowalczyk delivered on the hits, taking fans back to the '90s and early fandom days.

The band hit many of the highlights of its catalog, with a 15-song set list including "Lightning Crashes," "I Alone," "All Over You," "Overcome," "The Dolphin's Cry" and more.

Known for those hits and several others, the band has sold more than 22 million albums worldwide. Their 1994 "Throwing Copper" album — including "Lightning Crashes," and "I Alone" —reached no. 1 in Billboard's Top 200 and is still considered by many as an alt-rock classic, more than two decades later. The band celebrated the album's 25th anniversary in 2019 with a special edition.
