Wyllie Addresses Sandy Hook, School Safety in E-Newsletter

The video on this month's e-newsletter edition of "StraightTalk" addresses safety in the schools.

The February edition of "StraightTalk" includes a video of Lincoln-Way High School District 210 officials sharing insights on the safety and security measures at each of the four high schools.

In light of the tragedy at Sandy Hook in December, LWHS D210 administrators, including Supt. Lawrence Wyllie and the associate principals, address the issues in the LWHS D210 e-newsletter, found on the district's website.

Among the latest security measures is the recent installation RaptorWare, which changes the way visitors enter the building. Visitors are stopped the door and screened via their driver's licenses. The screening checks nationwide databases for registered sexual offenders as well as those with restraining orders.

The biggest feature, however, is the installation of panic buttons set strategically at the front entrance and in the aquatics area of each of the four high schools.
