Drone, K9 Unit Help Locate Elderly Man Missing In New Lenox: Police

The man was found safe and was taken for a medical evaluation, New Lenox Police Chief Louis Alessandrini told Patch.

NEW LENOX, IL — An 82-year-old New Lenox man suffering from dementia and diabetes who wandered from his home Friday evening was found safe several hours later, police said.

New Lenox police and Will County Sheriff's officers Friday evening were searching for the man after his dogs returned to their home without him, New Lenox Police Chief Louis Alessandrini told Patch earlier Friday night.

Will County Sheriff's police, with help from a drone and a K9 unit, located the man.

Police said he was taken for a medical evaluation. No further information was available about his condition as of 10:15 p.m. It is unclear where the man was found, police said.
