Mexican Restaurant Coming Soon To Former New Lenox Pizza Hut
A sit-down Mexican restaurant will open soon in the vacant Pizza Hut building.

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox is getting a new Mexican restaurant, set to move into the longtime vacant Pizza Hut building at Lincoln Highway and Vine.
El Sombrero restaurant will open in the space at 338 W. Lincoln Highway, Mayor Tim Baldermann told Patch Monday.
Owner Aiden Yocham has secured necessary permits to begin work on the building, Baldermann said.

Yocham currently owns another Mexican restaurant called El Cancun, located in Dwight, Illinois. That restaurant will close ahead of the New Lenox restaurant's location, Baldermann said.
Baldermann was eager to share the news with residents. The building has been vacant for nearly 10 years and for sale quite some time.

Yelp reviews of El Cancun show some happy customers.
"OMG what a treat! Wow. Just one exceptional delicious mouth full of flavor after another," one reviewer wrote. "... Seriously one of the best Mexican meals I have ever had. Just out of this world. This should not be merely a passing through town freeway exit sort of thing , but rather should be a destination for anyone who is in the area."
"Good food, good service, good value," wrote another.
"Try this place! Soooooo delicious! Everything! Dine in or carryout," according to another reviewer. "The food is fresh and tasty. Very authentic. Prices are reasonable. Decor inside is quaint with Mexican music playing in the background. ..."
A menu for El Cancun shared online is five pages long and includes a wide offering of dishes, ranging from burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, and other traditional dishes and platters. Margaritas and a full bar are also available.
An opening date is not yet set, but work is expected to begin soon.
