Multi-Vehicle Crash Snarls Traffic On I-80 Thursday: ISP

NEW LENOX, IL — A multi-vehicle crash on I-80 westbound near New Lenox Thursday morning snarled traffic and sent several to the hospital.

Illinois State Police were called approximately 8:12 a.m. to the multi-unit crash involving a semi, near the Maple Street (US 30) exit in New Lenox, ISP said.

Three people were taken to area hospitals with injuries; the extent of their injuries was not known. All westbound lanes were closed during the crash investigation and cleanup.

All lanes reopened at approximately 10:14 a.m.

The crash investigation is active, and no further information is available.
