New Lenox Fitness Court Officially Opens

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Community Park District made its latest addition official during an opening launch Tuesday for the new Fitness Court, located at 701 W. Haven Ave. in New Lenox.

The event was attended by residents, Village and State officials, Park District staff, and donors who made the Fitness Court possible.

The Fitness Court "is an open-air wellness center that allows users to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout," according to the Park District's website. "Created with adults of all ages in mind, the Fitness Court is adaptable for all fitness levels. New users can also download the free Fitness Court App — a coach-in-your-pocket style platform — that transforms the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness ecosystem. The Fitness Court App, entitled 'Fitness Court', is available for iOS and Android."

The Fitness Court has seven stations, each designed to focus on a different area of the body. People are directed to spend 45 seconds exercising at each station, with 15 seconds of rest before moving on to the next station.
