New Lenox Girl Scouts Make Blankets for Newborns, Donate to Silver Cross
New Lenox Gil Scout Troop # 359 made blankets to keep newborns warm at Silver Cross Hospital.

Members from Girl Scouts Troup #359 in New Lenox, delivered handmade blankets to Silver Cross Hospital to be given to newborn babies born at the hospital’s Birthing Center.
The Girl Scouts made the fleece blankets as part of their community service project. During this same visit, the girls also participated in a first aid class to learn the basics of providing initial care for an illness or injury, said Tracy Simons, communications relations director for Silver Cross Hospital.
“We are grateful to the Girl Scouts for taking the time to make these beautiful baby blankets,” said Marilyn Paolella, R.N., director Women and Infant Services at Silver Cross Hospital. “Through their gift, we will be able to provide warm blankets to babies whose parents might be going through a tough time and need assistance. It is a wonderful community service project that the girls completed for our littlest patients.”
