Murder Charge For New Lenox Man In Slaying Of Girl, 14
A judge called him a "danger to the community" after the fatal June shooting in Chicago.

NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox man has been charged with the murder of a 14-year-old girl in Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Michael Aguirre, 26, whose last known address was in New Lenox, was arrested Monday in Chicago, according to police. Aguirre is the second man charged in connection with the June 2 shooting that killed Savanah Quintero in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, WGN reported.
According to media reports citing police, three people approached Quintero in the 1700 block of West 48th Street at approximately 6 p.m. June 2. Police said a group asked Quintero if she was a member of a street gang. After she replied she wasn't but her mother was, Aguirre is accused of handing a gun to a second man, Edgar Martinez, who shot the girl, police told the Chicago Tribune.
