New Lenox Police Warn Of Donation Scams
Residents are reminded that New Lenox police will never solicit money via phone.
NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox police are warning residents to be wary of anyone purporting to be New Lenox police soliciting personal information or donations.
Police have received reports recently of people claiming to be New Lenox police officers, and/or members of the Fraternal Order of Police, asking people for their personal information, police said Wednesday.
The callers also often ask for monetary donations, police said.

Residents are reminded that New Lenox police and members of the local Fraternal Order of Police will not solicit money or payments over the phone. Residents should not disclose personal or banking information to an unsolicited caller or via email.
Police unions are permitted to fundraise via phone, but they must legally represent themselves during the conversation, police said.
