New Lenox Water Restrictions In Place 'Until Further Notice': Village

Outside watering is only allowed between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. effective as of Tuesday.

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox residents are under Tier 1 watering restrictions beginning Tuesday. The restrictions will remain in effect "until further notice," according to the Village of New Lenox.

Outdoor watering is only permitted between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. during the watering restriction, according to the Village.

The restrictions mean that odd-numbered homes are only permitted to water outdoors during permitted hours on odd-numbered days, and even-numbered homes on even-numbered days, according to Village officials.

The restrictions were put in place because of high temperatures and a lack of rain in the forecast. The restrictions also apply to residents who have permits to water everyday because of new landscaping, according to the Village.
