New Trustee Sworn In At Village Board Meeting
Lindsay Scalise was sworn in at the Village Board meeting Monday.

NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox Board of Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of Lindsay Scalise to the Board at its Monday meeting. Scalise is filling the seat of Annette Bowden, who resigned to take an opportunity out of state.
New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann highlighted Scalise's previous work as a legal assistant at a law firm in Chicago and her involvement in numerous community affairs, most recently her efforts in the Pop Tab Challenge to benefit children with special needs.
“In my opinion, and I think the Board would concur, she is what we’re looking for," Baldermann said when asking for the Board's approval of the appointment. "We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to their town, who has no agenda other than doing good things for their community, very intelligent, common sense, open minded. And that’s what we want. That’s all we can ask.”

Bowden had served on the Board since 1991. She was also the first woman to serve on the Board.
Scalise is a resident of New Lenox, along with her husband, Matt, and two sons, ages 4 and 8.
*This article has been updated to reflect that Scalise was a legal assistant, not a lawyer, as a previous version stated.
