Olympia Fields Man Charged In New Lenox Jewelry Store Burglary: NLPD
The man was arrested and charged three days after the Oct. 14 break-in at Cornerstone Jewelry in New Lenox.

NEW LENOX, IL — A 32-year-old Olympia Fields man has been charged in the Oct. 14 burglary of a New Lenox jewelry store.
Norman J. Williams, of the 3400 block of Parthenon Way, was arrested and charged Tuesday, Oct. 17 in connection with a break-in at Cornerstone Jewelry in the early morning hours of Oct. 14.
Police say surveillance footage shows a black, four-door Chevrolet pull up to the store shortly before 3 a.m., a suspect then exiting the car while another waited inside it. A suspect is then seen smashing the glass door of the business and entering the store. Once inside, footage shows the suspect shattering display cases and stealing jewelry before fleeing in the Chevrolet.

Police were able to identify the car in the video, later locating it at a pawn shop in Chicago Heights. Williams was then found at the pawn shop, in possession of several pieces of jewelry taken from the store, police said. Other items later found on Williams during an investigation were also identified as stolen from Cornerstone Jewelry, New Lenox police said.

Williams was charged with burglary and criminal damage to property. He was released on a notice to appear, police said Tuesday.
