Police Investigating Apparent Suicide Outside New Lenox Gas Station

NEW LENOX, IL — New Lenox police are on the scene of an apparent suicide outside a New Lenox gas station Sunday.

Police were called for a report of a male unresponsive in a car outside the Circle K gas station at US 30 and Nelson Road Sunday around 11 a.m.

Police are withholding the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. The person was not a New Lenox resident, according to New Lenox Police Chief Louis Alessandrini.

The scene is secure, and there is no threat to the community, police said. Police continue to investigate.

“Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family,” Chief Alessandrini said.
