Retired White Sox Catcher Carlton Fisk Pleaded Guilty to DUI

Retired White Sox player Carlton Fisk agreed to Will County's terms.

Retired White Sox catcher Carlton Fisk pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI on Thursday in Will County Court in Joliet.

The SunTimes Media reported the story.

Arrested on Oct. 22 by New Lenox police and charged with DUI, the SunTimes Media said 64-year-old Fisk pleaded guilt to one year of court supervision. He will also pay $1,250 in court costs

DUI, 64-year-old Fisk pleaded guilty to one year of court supervision. He will also pay $1,250 in court costs.

Represented in court by former Will County Circuit Judge Stephen White, who is on the board of education for Lincoln-Way High School District 210, Fisk was also ordered to complete an alcohol abuse program. According to the SunTimes Media, part of that program demands that he meet with select families who had lost loved ones due to drunken drivers.

Will County State's Attorney Spokesperson Chuck Pelkie said a special Appellate Court prosecutor was assigned to handle the Fisk case.

Fisk had been booked on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.

Police found the Hall of Famer, who currently lives in Bradenton, FL., in a cornfield stupor behind the wheel of his pickup truck near Gougar and Spencer Roads. He was charged with DUI and spent the night in jail.

Fisk's defense attorney White said his client did not realize the effect that mixing alcohol and prescription drugs would have on his ability to drive, according to a story in the Tribune story.
