Silver Cross Limits Visitors As COVID-19 Patients Increase

NEW LENOX, IL — Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox is limiting the number of visitors non-COVID-19 patients can have at a time to two. Additionally, children under the age of 16 will not be allowed to visit patients at the hospital.

Silver Cross made the change Wednesday, citing a growing number of COVID-19 patients and the increase in highly contagious delta variant cases, according to a post on the hospital's Facebook page.

  • Visitors entering the hospital must complete a health screening, receive a temperature check and cleanse their hands with antibacterial foam. Anyone who screens positive will be unable to visit. Anyone with serious symptoms will be directed to the Emergency Department.
  • All visitors ages 16 years or older must wear masks at all times while inside the hospital. Masks will be provided for those without one.
  • No outside food is allowed inside the hospital. Only beverages may be brought in.
  • Visitors are not able to gather in lounges or in the lobby at this time.
