Suspected Cocaine and Weed Found in Random Registration Check: Police Blotter

A Calumet City man is caught with drugs during a random registration check.

Random registration check nets drugs

According to the report, Jerry Corbin, 42, Calumet City, was stopped in his car at Cedar Road and Ford Drive in a random registration check. During the investigation, police spotted a substance suspected to be cocaine as well as marijuana. He was also driving on a suspended license.

Corbin was taken to Will County jail, and bond was set at $10,000.

3 drivers caught with suspended licenses

Luis Mendez, 29, Maywood, was stopped for a speeding violation at Cedar Road and Wallace Street. Police further learned that he was driving on a suspended license.

Erika Santos, 30, Joliet, was stopped in her car in the 1800 block of W. Route 30. She was ticketed and released.

Lionel Loper, 34, Joliet, was stopped in a car at Cherry Hill Road and Haven Avenue. According to the report, he was pulled over for driving recklessly. It was later determined that he was driving on a suspended license as well. He was cited for both traffic violations.

Nativity set stolen

Someone from the 500 block of Glenn Drive filed a theft complaint because two figurines were stolen from the outside nativity set. Police are investigating the incident.
