Teen Ticketed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Lockport police continue to investigate the details of a fatal crash Aug. 3 at 163rd Street near Fieldstone Place.
Stephen Reifeiss, 34, of Lockport, was killed in a motorcycle-car collision at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at 163rd Street and Fieldstone Place in Lockport.
Lockport Police Sgt. Ron Huff said Reifeiss was riding a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on 163rd Street about 150 feet east of Fieldstone Place when a westbound 2010 Volkswagen Jetta turned into a driveway in front of him. Reifeiss’ motorcycle struck the passenger side of the car.
The driver of the car, a 16-year-old Orland Park boy, was cited for failure to yield.

Huff said Reifeiss was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Lockport Police Accident Reconstruction team is still investigating the crash. Huff said alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor.
