Thousands Fill New Lenox Commons For Triple Play Opener 'The Fray'

The Fray played to a packed crowd at the New Lenox Commons Saturday, June 10.

NEW LENOX, IL — The 15-year tradition of New Lenox's Triple Play concert series opened Saturday, June 10, with performances from headline The Fray and opener Nine Days and Good Things. Nearly 3,000 tickets have been sold for the series to-date, Mayor Tim Baldermann told Patch.

The Fray delivered a jam-packed setlist, including its hits "How To Save A Life," "All at Once," "Look After You," "Over My Head," and "She Is." They also sprinkled in covers of Oasis' "Champagne Supernova," and "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds.

Just before The Fray, Opener Nine Days got the crowd going with chatter and a strong setlist, capped by its hit "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)." Good Things took the stage first.

All-in-one passes for the series are still available, for $90 each. The total cost includes all three shows. Tickets can be purchased at Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway, during normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or at the ticket booth the day of the show.

The next show is set for Saturday, June 17, with Jewel as the main act. She's joined by openers 2006 American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, and Hooked Like Helen. Hicks takes the stage at 7:30 p.m., with Hooked Like Helen set for 6 p.m. Jewel will perform starting at 9 p.m.
