Water Main Break At Digby Drive: Officials

New Lenox officials advised residents of the water main break Friday.

NEW LENOX, IL — Residents of New Lenox were advised of a water main break near Digby Road and Carlton Court, according to an alert sent out by Village officials Friday morning. The break is the second in as many days in that area, and the third overall in the past two days.

On Thursday, residents were advised of two mater main breaks, one at Digby Road and Carlton Court, and the other near Oakview Drive, according to Public Works Director Brian Williams. The break near Oakview Drive was fixed within a few hours, Williams said.

The cause for the recent breaks may be related to the age of the pipes, Williams said. The Village is currently in the process of replacing older pipes that date back to the 1960s and 1970s, he said.
