Driver Fatally Strikes Cyclist Near North Branch Trail In Morton Grove, Police Say
Morton Grove police said they are investigating a fatal crash at the intersection of Dempster Street and Lehigh Avenue.

MORTON GROVE, IL — The driver of a pickup truck fatally struck a cyclist Tuesday morning in Morton Grove, police said.
Michael Rapp, 74, of Skokie, had crossed Dempster Street heading north on Lehigh Avenue shortly before 10:15 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck headed west on Dempster.
Rapp was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he were pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Investigators from Major Crash Assistance Team of the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force were called in to probe the circumstances of the fatal crash.
The North Branch Trail, a popular mixed-use path, intersects with Dempster Street and Lehigh Avenue near Linne Woods.
