MORTON GROVE, IL — A body, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as a female, was discovered overnight Monday near train tracks in Morton Grove. A Metra spokesperson told Patch the body was found near Beckwith Road and Lehigh Avenue.

"We do not believe one of our trains was involved. We know a freight had gone through the area, but we haven't even confirmed the freight train was involved yet," Michael Gillis, of Metra, said.

The CCMEO has not released an identity of the female or any other details, as an investigation is ongoing.
