Chicago Born Rapper Lil Durk Arrested on Murder-4-Hire

The rapper known as Lil Durk, real name Durk Devontay Banks, performed at the UC in Chicago last week where one of his fans was fatally shot in a robbery attempt just 2 blocks from the United Center where Lil Durk was to perform that night.

According to TMZ, which claims to have broken the story, several members of the Chicago-based OTF crew, to which Durk has ties, were charged Thursday with the slaying of rapper Quando Rondo's cousin, King Von.

According to TMZ, Federal authorities claim the crime was committed in retaliation for the rapper Von's death in Atlanta 4 years ago.

In November of 2020, Von was fatally shot by Quando associate Lul Timm during an altercation. Timm was initially charged with the murder, but the case was later dismissed.

Durk is currently being held in custody in Florida, pending a bond hearing next week.
