Community Invited to North Suburban YMCA’s Annual Trunk or Treat on October 19

Northbrook, IL – September 2025 – The North Suburban YMCA invites the entire community to its highly anticipated Annual Y Trunk or Treat event, a free event that is festive fun for families and children. Presented by Allstate, Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, Wintrust Community Banks, and Waterway Carwash, this family-friendly celebration will take place on Sunday, October 19, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Y’s outdoor campus, located at 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook, IL.

Held in the Y’s spacious parking lot, all ages are welcome to come dressed in costume and children under 12 can participate and enter into the popular Costume Contest. Also seeking volunteers to come and showcase their creativity by decorating their vehicles and passing out candy. Volunteer cars will be entered into the Y’s “Most Creative Vehicle” Contest, with trophies and prizes awarded to winners.

Additional highlights include music by Bach to Rock, a bounce house, and vendor booths. Snacks will be available for purchase, while outside food and drinks are not permitted.

“We are so proud of this event and hope for another great turnout like last year, when over a thousand people came out for the Halloween Fun,” said Kim Nyren, NSYMCA Director of Community Investments and Events. “Our Y is committed to strengthening our community, and free events like Trunk or Treat bring together multigenerational families. Whether you’re a business marketing your services or a volunteer decorating your trunk, it is amazing to be part of something that makes a real impact in our community.”

In addition to presenting sponsors, Trunk or Treat will feature vendors such as Celebree School of Northbrook, Chicago Mind Solutions, Glenbrook Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Huntington National Bank, Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program, Rover’s Place, and more.
