I spoke to an associate of Mr. Meyer, Captain Frank Walsh, who worked with Meyer for several years and said he was well liked and respected among his peers. Meyer was a 'firefighters firefighter' who paid great attention to detail to and took immense pride in his work.
Mr. Meyer was a 30-year-veteral of the CFD and was to retire in October. He is survived by his wife & 4 children, among other relatives.
