Ken was born in Chicago, IL in 1939 to Leo Kaiz and Celia Roseman Kaiz. He proudly attended Shimer College in Mount Carroll, IL. He was married to Ruth for 17 years before his marriage to Sandy Erdos Kaiz. They were married almost 45 years and still madly in love.
Ken worked in merchandise management at Walgreens before joining the family business running Admiral Lamp in Chicago. Able to fix most anything, Ken was passionate about his work and ensuring he could help a customer with any need. Years later he ended his career as a manager at Radio Shack. An avid music fan, Ken was known to enjoy Israeli dancing, attending the Chicago Lyric Opera. He was always humming or singing something.

Ken was very proud of his Jewish heritage and active in his community, singing in the choirs at Northwest Suburban Jewish Congregation, then Ezra Habonim Niles Township Jewish Congregation, where he was well known for enthusiastically singing the endings of prayers, and enjoyed singing and playing many roles in the annual Purim Shpiel. He also helped prepare Sabbath meals for the Temple with his wife Sandy for over 15 years. Ken was a warmhearted and jovial member of the community. A Mr. fix-it, pancake master, Weber grill aficionado, music lover, and major Buick fan, Ken is immensely loved and will be fondly remembered and missed by all.
