Man, Boy Shot In Niles Home, No Suspects Believed At Large, Police Say

NILES, IL — A man and a boy were shot Friday morning inside a home in Niles, police said.

Officers were dispatched to a report of gunfire near the intersection of Lyons Street and North Woodland Road around 10:30 a.m., according to Niles police.

Police determined that the shooting had taken place inside a home in the 9200 block of Woodland Road, where they found two people that had suffered gunshot wounds.

A 15-year-old boy had been shot in an arm, while a 33-year-old man had suffered wounds in the torso, police said. Niles Fire Department ambulances took both to a local hospital for treatment, no information about their condition was immediately available.

There were no suspects thought to be at large, according to the Niles Police Department, which asked anyone with information about the incident to call their investigations division.
