Man Charged With Burglary Over Armed Robbery Of Niles Gambling Cafe
Detectives identified a Maine Township man as the gunman who robbed Tracy's on Golf Road last month, police said.

NILES, IL — Police said they have identified and arrested the man who robbed a gambling cafe at gunpoint in Niles last month.
Arvin Basilio, 33, of the 1000 block of Holly Lane, in unincorporated Maine Township, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of burglary, according to Niles police.
Police said that Basilio came into Tracy's at 8600 Golf Road on the morning of Dec. 12 and passed a handwritten note to the teller.

The note demanded money and contained a threat to "shoot everyone," police said. There were two patrons inside the cafe at the time of the robbery.
The gunman made off with about $1,125 in cash and fled, police said at the time.

No information was immediately available from Niles police about how Basilio was identified — or why he has been charged with burglary rather than aggravated or armed robbery.
