McHenry Man Accused Leaving his 9-month old child home to go rob bank
Peter A. Sova, 36, of McHenry, faces one count of aggravated robbery, one count of theft over $500 and one felony count of child abandonment

According to McHenry authorities, Peter A. Sova, 36, of McHenry, faces one count of aggravated robbery, one count of theft over $500 and one felony count of child abandonment.
It is alleged that Mr. Sova left his 9 month old baby unattended at home to go commit an armed robbery at the Huntington Bank branch, located at 5555 W. Bull Valley Rd., McHenry on Monday morning.
Responding Officers determined that Sova allegedly entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money, while brandishing what the teller believed to be a handgun.

Shortly after responding to the armed robbery call at Huntington Bank, Officers were able to locate Mr. Sova in a field on the property of The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Rd., where he was taken into custody.
It was then determined by Officers that Sova had left his 9-month old baby alone, unattended at home in order to commit the robbery.

The child was taken into protective custody by the responding Officers, who then contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and the child was released to the custody of his mother, police said.
Mr. Sova has been transported to McHenry County jail and is awaiting court proceedings on the charges.
