Niles’s 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled
Niles's traditional Fourth of July events have been canceled due to the coronavirus.
NILES, IL – July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Niles. The festivities for 2020 have been canceled. This is the first time the parade will not be held in over 50 years.
“The 4th of July is an important time for us in Niles, when we come together to celebrate our nation and our community,” said Julie Genualdi, President of the Niles Park District Board of Commissioners, in a press release. “This is a challenging time, but we look forward to gathering in spirit for now, and in person as soon as it is safe to do so.”
