Secretary of State Office Can't Pay Rent, Loses Lease

The Secretary of State office located in Niles has lost its lease because of failure to pay rent on time, the Morton Grove Champion reports.

The office that handles IDs and licence plates was looking into a Morton Grove location, but that plan fell through. A spokesperson for Jesse White’s office told the Champion they lost the lease in the Four Flags shopping center because the state is so far behind in paying the owners of the office. Officials are currently looking for new space and hope to move somewhere by this summer.
