Xavier L. Tate Jr., of Chicago was taken into custody Wednesday evening, and is facing charges of First degree murder of a Peace Officer in the highly publicized shooting death of 30 year old CPD Officer Luis M. Huesca last week.

Huesca, who was a six-year veteran of the police department, was found outside him home with gunshot wounds. His vehicle was taken, but police have not confirmed whether the shooting was part of a carjacking.
Hundreds of people lined the streets Monday for a funeral procession for Huesca, who was laid to rest following church services in Chicago.
