SUV Driver Hits Cyclist From Behind On Shermer, Flees Scene: Police
A 63-year-old man riding a bike was injured and taken to an area hospital. Niles police are looking to track down the car that struck him.

NILES, IL — A hit-and-run driver rear-ended a bicycle with an SUV early Wednesday in Niles, police said.
A 63-year-old man was riding his bike north on Shermer Road near Hamilton Drive around 4:30 a.m. when it was struck from behind by a black SUV that was also headed north, according to Niles police.
The force of the collision knocked the cyclist off his bicycle, but the SUV driver did not stop and instead continued in the northbound lane of Shermer Road, police said.

Police said the man, a Niles resident, was taken to an area hospital after suffering injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
No further description of the hit-and-run vehicle or driver was immediately available from police.
