3 Women Steal More Than $1K in Merchandise From Store: Cops

Cell Phone and Cash Taken

The victim, an employee at the business in the 2300 block of Shermer Road, reported his cell phone and $150 taken from his locked locker Nov. 14.

Driving Under the Influence

Rafael M. Magdaleno, 34, of the 5600 block of North Karlov Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, two counts of improper lane use and driving without insurance after a Nov. 16 traffic stop.

Magdaleno was stopped at the intersection of Dundee and Waukegan roads after officers observed him commit several traffic violations, the report stated. Magdaleno was released on a $1,000 D-bond, and his court date is Dec. 12.

Retail Theft

Olga Lazarevna Slavutskaya, 64, of the 300 block of Oak Trails Road, Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with retail theft after a Nov. 16 incident at a business in the 800 block of Willow Road. Slavutskaya was taken in to custody after attempting to leave the store without paying for $102 in merchandise.

She was released on $1,500 bond, and her court date is Dec. 8.

Accident and DUI

Wojciech Klejka, 50, of the 8100 block of West Valley Drive, Palos Hills, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and failure to reduce speed after a Nov. 18 traffic stop.

Police responded to the report of an accident with no injuries at the intersection of Willow Road and Ravine Way. An investigation of the accident scene determined that Klejka was under the influence, and he was arrested.

Klejka was released on $1,000 bond.

3 Female Shoplifters

An employee of a store in the 1500 block Lake Cook Road reported that three women entered the business Nov. 20, and took off with $1,200 in merchandise from the toddler section. When confronted, the woman left the store without paying, fleeing in a gray Mazda Tribute.
