50 Oak Lawn Student Athletes Recognized For Accomplishments In The Classroom
Oak Lawn Community High School 2025-2026 student-athletes were recognized for the prowess in sports and in the classroom.

OAK LAWN, IL — The Illinois High School Association and the South Suburban Conference take time each sports season to recognize student-athletes who excel on the field and in the classroom. The IHSA Scholastic Achievement Awards are given to junior and senior athletes who maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The SSC All-Academic Athletic Team consists of only senior athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Here is a look at Oak Lawn Community High School athletes who were recognized by the IHSA. The asterisks denote SSC recipients.
In boys golf it was Dylan Jones, David Bush*, and Jack Dempsey*. In boys soccer it was Evan Thacker, Logan Thacker, Isaac Bayas*, Adam Cichorz*, and Emiliano Lopez*. For boys cross country it was Daniel Magana, Jose Romero, Alan Soto, Mustafa Adam*, Charles Levora*, and Ivan Zamora*.

The football players were Laith Abbasi, Martin Hernandez, Jayden Schlosser, Michael Wilson, Jesse Peredes*, and Tadhg Walsh*. For girls tennis the recipients were Melanie Gil Ruiz, Alicja Kij, My Troung, Olivia Zajma, Reehan Aldeek*, Julia Bolcarovic*, Emma Delberto*, Lilas Issawi*, Hannah Leanos*, Haley Meskill*, Nathalia Navarro*, and Virginia Whitener.
The girls cross country runners were Evangelina Angulo, Annabel Castellanos, Yaritza Linares, and Munya Yasin*. For Flag football it was Kamya Feigl, and for girls golf it was Taylor Steffen, Clark Zylius, and Katesavanh Demlow*.

In girls swim it was Nina Kadlub, Magdalena Kapusciak, Noemi Castillo*, and Klaudia Latocha*. For girls volleyball it was Kenadie Haubenreiser, Angelica Ziaja, Maryam Hussein*, Haydee Manriquez*, and Kasey Thompson*.
