BURBANK, IL — The driver who plowed into St. Laurence High School in Burbank last week has been cited with multiple vehicle citations, police said.

Juan Aguilar-Pulido, 34, was charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended driver’s license, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Just after 3:30 p.m last Tuesday, Burbank police responded to a single-vehicle accident at the high school at 5556 W. 77th St. When officers arrived, they saw that a vehicle had crashed into an empty classroom.

No injuries were reported. School officials said the accident occurred after school ended and nobody was in the affected classroom. Aguilar-Pulido was released the same day and has been assigned a pending court date.

St. Laurence students were placed on remote learning for the remainder of the week "out of an abundance of caution," school officials said.
