Oak Lawn Spartans Entertain Richards Bulldogs Friday At Home For 'Game Of The Century'

OAK LAWN, IL — It’s highly possible that Friday’s “game of the century” between the 6-0 Oak Lawn Spartans and 5-1 Richards Bulldogs could be a sellout. The two crosstown rivals will meet at Napleton Field on the Oak Lawn Community High School campus at 9400 Southwest Highway. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

This Friday’s Oak Lawn v. Richards game will be a GOFAN DIGITAL TICKET ONLY EVENT. There will NOT be a cash option at the gate for entry. All entrants must present a GOFAN ticket for admission. Your phone is your admission.

General ticket sales will open at noon Wednesday, Oct. 8, that can be purchased at OLCHS GOFAN digital ticketing site; by downloading the GOFAN app or by scanning the QR code below. Tickets are limited to general stadium capacity. Once the maximum capacity is reached, sales will close. The game could be a sellout.

The come-out-of-nowhere, Oak Lawn Community High School still isn’t being mentioned in high school football rankings, despite their astonishing start. Over the past four football seasons, Oak Lawn has won only two games.

Richards High School, at 106th Street and Central Avenue, has been to the IHSA playoffs numerous times. The Bulldogs have always had a reputation for toughness. The team is on a four-game win steak. Richards lost Sept. 5 to Sandburg High School, 27-7.

The Bulldogs continue to lead the South Suburban Conference (Red) 4-0, while Oak Lawn is catching up in conference play with a 3-0 record. All in all, this is the SSC Red Conference meetup of the season.

Only OLCHS and Richards students will be admitted to Friday's game on Oct 10 without an adult. Students from other schools and children must be accompanied by an adult. Below is some more info.
