BURBANK, IL —When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Patricia Parciak, who nominated her daughter Michelle Rodriguez, an ICU nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
She is working every day with COVID-19 patients. She is so loving to all her patients. Michelle has been their family when they couldn’t see their family. She then comes home and helps me because I’m disabled on her days off she has help provide mask for a lot of people.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She loves what she does.
