Oak Lawn Runner Jose Romero Sets Sights On Qualifying For IHSA Cross Country Regional Meet

The Oak Lawn Community High School runner is nearing the 17-minute mark to qualify for the IHSA Cross Country Regional Meet, coach says.

OAK LAWN, IL — With the Illinois High School Association Boys Cross Country Regional meet looming in the near future, Oak Lawn Community High School’s Jose Romero is focused on running a time fast enough to qualify for the sectional. And he continues to push his teammates to come along for the ride.

“Jose has been the driving force of our team, leading as both our top runner and a captain,” OLCHS head coach Marty Chappetto said. “His consistent effort, discipline, and competitive spirit have pushed him near the 17-minute mark while inspiring his teammates to rise with him. Jose’s dedication and leadership make him a standout in our program, and we’re excited to see what he achieves next.”
