Did you know that filmmakers are all around you, even in your own community? I'm Mackenzie Brodzinski, and I work alongside director Keith Groyon at Moviecrew17, a production company that's deeply rooted in the surrounding areas.
Right now, we’re working on an exciting new horror series called The Red Huntress. The story takes place in the late 1800's and follows Alice Strawingberg, played by Samantha Hupp, as she unravels the mystery of the creatures threatening her village. Alice must figure out how to stop these monsters, meanwhile, the villagers are hunting her. Will she succeed? Is she the one causing the monster outbreak?
What makes this series truly special is that we film at local locations, drawing inspiration from the stunning landscapes right around us. Moviecrew17 is proud to call this area home, and you never know when we’ll be filming nearby!
We’ve already released two 30-minute episodes on YouTube, and we’re incredibly proud of them. Episode 3 is in the works, and we can’t wait to show you what happens next. Our talented actors pour their heart and soul into every scene, constantly elevating the series with each shoot. However, as an ultra-low-budget film group, much of the funding comes out of our own pockets. While we’re not asking you to finance our project, if you enjoy the series, we have some great incentives that can help support our work.
