How do you know your graduating student nominee?

I’m her mom

Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!

Finishing senior year as an Illinois State Scholar is a feat within itself, but doing it while being involved in Marching Band, Concert Band, Speech, Drama, Honors Concert Choir and both the fall and spring musicals is why I’m so proud of my daughter. It’s been a lot of work and many hours dedicated to the extracurricular activities she enjoys, but she did it and she loved it! She started school at 8am, attended her after-school obligations every day during the week sometimes until 9pm, and during speech every Saturday from 6am until 6pm, and nailed it. She applied to Illinois State University’s School of Theatre and Dance and was selected to fill one of the 12 open slots, with over 80 applying. I’m beaming, and I cannot wait to see how high she will soar.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?

She has the biggest heart, the best sense of humor, the dedication to her craft, and the perseverance to make what she wants happen.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Annie!
