Oak Lawn Police Issue 232 Citations During Fall Traffic Safety Enforcement Campaign
Oak Lawn police released numbers from the fall traffic enforcement campaign from Oct. 24 through Nov. 3.
OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police issued 232 citations during their crackdown on scary driving. The fall enforcement safety campaign, which ran from Oct. 24 through Nov. 3, was part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High, Get a DUI” initiatives.
Among the citations were one impaired driving arrest and 160 citations for seat belt and child safety seat violations. Additionally, officers issued other citations for:
08 Distracted driving
12 Speeding
01 Reckless Driving
06 traffic arrests (no valid or suspended driver’s license)
44 citations for other moving and equipment violations
Law enforcement agencies across Illinois participated in this statewide effort to save lives by removing impaired drivers from the roadways and ensuring more drivers and passengers were properly buckled up.
