Oak Lawn Runner Yara Khalil Earned Sport In Top 7 For Spartans At IHSA Regional
"Yara impressed her coaches, which is a testament to her commitment and grit," Oak Lawn Community High School head coach Sue Szala said.

OAK LAWN, IL — Despite it being just her second year on the girls cross country team at Oak Lawn Community High School, Yara Khalil made the most of her opportunity to run. In fact, she ended up earning a spot in the Top Seven runners for the Spartans at the Illinois High School Association Regional meet last month.
Khalil competed and pushed herself to improve all season long. The results proved this to be well worth the work.
“Yara has shown incredible growth and determination,” OLCHS head coach Sue Szala said. “Her hard work and dedication paid off as she dropped time in every race this season, consistently pushing her limits. Yara impressed her coaches, which is a testament to her commitment and grit. She’s only beginning to unlock her full potential, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the seasons ahead.”
