Body Found in Forest Park Confirmed as Alicia Yaus of Oak Park
The death is being investigated as a possible suicide.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed the body found Dec. 2 in Forest Park belongs to Alicia Yaus.
Yaus, 48 of the 500 block of Forest Ave. in Oak Park, was reported missing Nov. 29 by her family.
She was pronounced dead at the scene in the 1500 block of Circle Avenue, according to the medical examiner’s office. The cause and manner of her death have not yet been determined as the medical examiner waits for pending studies to return.

Yaus’ body was found in a parked car, registered to her, in a secluded, industrial area behind a building, police reported.
The case is now classified as a death investigation lead by the Forest Park Police Department, in cooperation with Oak Park police, according to the Village of Oak Park.

Forest Park Police Chief Tom Aftanas told the Chicago Tribune the death is being investigated as a possible suicide, based on evidence found at the scene.
