Concordia-Chicago University Band Seeking New Members
Membership is open to adult instrumentalists from the Chicago area.

The University Band of Concordia-Chicago is looking for additional musicians to join the highly regarded community ensemble. This group performs four festive concerts each year, including the summer Patriotic Pops concert, and may appear for various campus functions. Literature is drawn from the finest traditional and contemporary repertoire.

Membership is open to adult instrumentalists from the Chicago area—all instruments are welcome. The ensemble rehearses Thursday evenings beginning Sept. 1, from 7:45-9:30 p.m. in Kretzmann Hall on the University’s campus at 7400 Augusta St., River Forest, IL. To arrange an audition, contact conductor Dr. Richard Fischer at 708-227-2200 or richard.fischer@CUChicago.edu.
The University Band comprises approximately 70 musicians, including residents from surrounding communities as well as Concordia University Chicago students, faculty and staff. Dr. Fischer, distinguished professor of music and the Fred and Jane Wittlinger Endowed Chair for Music Performance, begins his 49th year at Concordia-Chicago in the fall of 2022.
