  1. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart wants to close a legal loophole that allows convicted felons and abusers with revoked gun permits to buy ammunition in-state. At a Monday press conference, Sheriff Dart, joined by State Representative La Shawn Ford and State Senator Jacqueline Collins, announced a renewed effort to change state law. The demand for change came after a series of mass shootings across the country, as well as ongoing gun violence in Cook County. (WGN TV Chicago)
