  1. A local preschool offers younger and older generations the opportunity to interact and build meaningful relationships. Kindness Creators Intergenerational Preschool, located in the Oak Park Arms retirement community, serves students ages 3-5 and features senior volunteers. "I love hanging out with [the] kids," said Anne Gressle, a retired preschool teacher and Kindness Creators volunteer. "In these troubling times, it helps me get out of my head." (Patch)

  3. The Chicago area, including Oak Park-River Forest, could see thunderstorms this weekend before dangerous heat and humidity next week. According to the National Weather Service, the region has a chance of showers and storms on both Saturday and Sunday.
