River Forest officials are urging residents to recycle unwanted signs at village hall.

RIVER FOREST, IL — Do you have corrugated plastic political signs in your yard? If you answered "yes," River Forest officials are urging residents to recycle those unwanted signs at village hall.
Only corrugated plastic signs and their metal stakes will be accepted, village officials said.

The red recycling box is located on Central Avenue under the railroad viaduct next to village hall (400 Park Avenue).
"Please note this is a special drop off and that corrugated plastic and metal stakes should never go in the curbside recycling bin," village officials said via social media.

Before tossing your campaign sign, village officials also ask resident to consider saving it for future use.
"You could attach a new message to the board and use it to promote a special event," village officials said. "A local school or nonprofit organization may be able to use the sign, too. If you don’t want to save the entire sign, you may be able to reuse the wire stand for future signs or some other purpose."
