Lilly Stops at Coffee Shop for Input and Feedback

Rep. Camille Lilly sat down at Steph's Sweets with community members last week.

From State Representative Camille Lilly.

Last week, state Rep. Camille Lilly, D-Chicago, sat down with residents of Elmwood Park at Seph’s Sweets and discussed issues facing the local communities and the state.

“I had great conversations with the residents who came in and stopped to chat over coffee and tea with me at this local business,” said Lilly. “It was no surprise, though, that the top concerns of people were the budget, crippling property taxes and health care.”

At Seph’s Sweets, Lilly spoke with friends and neighbors about efforts to craft a responsible budget and protect some of our most vulnerable residents from dangerous cuts.

There was also discussion on how to inform residents of making wise health care choices and signing up for a plan during the open enrollment period.

“I welcome all perspectives on how to bring everyone together during this difficult time, and I will continue to listen to those I represent so I can advocate for them in Springfield,” Lilly said. “Every person I meet reminds me what I’m fighting for on a daily basis.”
